George. went to the Bible Institute in Kalk Bay in 1984 where he got a Diploma in Theology. In Dec 1989 he went to St. Timothy's Church, Swakopmund, Namibia. He did his first period of Curacy there under Frank Retief, (Long Distance) He was then called to Christ Church, Welkom in the Free State in South Africa. He served God there until his son, Andrew committed suicide in Cape Town in 1998. He worked as a part time - self employed minister for about 6 months in the Cape Flats, then became the assistant Rector of Emmanuel Church in Bellville. Swakop Called him back.
